I go to therapy 3 times a week and I look forward to it everyday. The therapists make it a fun environment and all of the patients are friendly. Being here for two surgeries made me want to learn more about the field and go into it for my career.
My body seemed to have become my worst enemy. Six major surgeries in just 2-and-a-half short years. What's a lady of "a certain age" to do? In my case, going to Boost in Lee's Summit was THE SINGULAR BEST decision made in my quest to get right again. Two spine and one shoulder surgery within an 8-month time span all made possible by Boost! From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew I'd found my physical health Mecca. I did a quick "Terminator" scan of the room and saw trainers who looked like they were truly invested in the recovery of the patients they were treating. Better still, I observed patients who appeared deeply invested in their own recovery! I had been to a different place for rotator cuff repair PT, and it was NOTHING like this! The patients - despite the pain they may have been in - all seemed genuinely glad to be there. It was more like being at a gym (that love/hate relationship we all have with exercise!) where everyone was working hard and kind of rooting for each other...it was really something to see! Despite much pain and suffering due to the surgeries, I actually ENJOYED going to PT each day! Not that it wasn't a lot of work (you have to "do work" as their motto says to get results), but it didn't constantly FEEL like it. The trainers, while knowledgeable and professional, were actually FUN! They made sure you understood WHY you were there and HOW you could facilitate your own recovery, and didn't slack up. In all honesty, I miss the camaraderie and fellowship. BONUS: Although I was there to strengthen my back and shoulder, the exercises actually helped me to lose some weight! THRILL!!! If you want professional, established, knowledgeable, empathic care with a lot of much-needed laughs to get you through the experience...get your hips to Boost Physical Therapy and "DO WORK!!!"
We had narrowed it down to two P.T. places for my daughter to do her recovery with after ACL surgery. We picked Boost because they really cater to the young athletes. David was my daughter's PT. What I liked the most as I could tell he really cared about the quality of work he did and he cared about my daughter's well being. This built confidence for her to push through the hard times of recovery. We have used Boost for P.T. side 3 or 4 times and my two soccer girls have used their workout training programs all through their high school athletic years. Boost really prepares athletes for competition which also prevents injuries.
Boost became my home away from home. I was there off and on for about two years because of two ACL surgeries, and the trainers there made it so enjoyable to come. I left each time in a better mood, and feeling like I had really seen improvement in my strength in my quad and flexibility in my knee. I am an athlete, and so they got my muscle back where it needed to be, my agility back, my speed back, and we even did some soccer skills all while rehabbing at the same time. They really care and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, and to help rehab you to the point of living life normally again. I made a complete recovery, and I owe a lot of that to Boost and especially my trainer David. If I ever needed rehab for anything again, I would go to Boost, no doubt. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good, quality physical therapy. I was actually sad to leave and to be done going there.
Great experience. I've worked with Tyler each time. He pushes me to get my shoulder strengthened while being very careful not to cause any pain or do harm to my shoulder. He has taught me things to do at home to help. They will tell you their schedule so that you can see the same person each time. I brought my daughter and she was a very squirrely 4yo the first visit. Tyler talked with her and the receptionist did as well. Boost is everything i could have expected and more!
