I cannot say I have ever been here at a wonderful time as it is never "routine" Last week my baby Zoey (mini dauchshund) got sick and went downhill fast. The only peaceful decision was euthanasia. Everyone was so nice and understanding and helpful. I got to hold her while they sedated her and when I left I knew she would be treated with care. This was affirmed when I received a sympathy card signed by the staff and a card with Zoey's footprint. That is the most caring thing ever done for ME at a difficult time of losing a loved pet. They care about everyone involved..animal and human. I hope never to have to go back but would in a heartbeat if my pet needed emergency care.
Hands down the WORST veterinary experience ever!!! Under no circumstances would I ever take a pet to these fear mongering parasites. With an English Bulldog as a member of our family we are no strangers to the vet's office. Our dog had been coughing and repeatedly vomiting for a majority of the day so we became concerned and decided to take her to the only vet we could find open on a Sunday in Lees Summit. After their "examination" which consisted of their on call Vet seeing my dog for a total of about 60 seconds, the vet and vet tech left the room to put together a treatment plan. Upon returning the tech presented my wife and I with "option 1" which consisted of and IV an x-ray and an overnight stay for $1155.81. I told the tech I thought that was a bit expensive for the treatment being recommended. She said" I will let you two talk about it and left the room, to return about 5 minutes later with "option 2" for $204.91 which consisted of an IV and shot to settle her stomach. At this point I asked the Vet tech "what was actually wrong with my dog and what she actually needed?" At this point I start to get a lot of double talk and nothing that resembled a straight answer. As I checked out I was waiting to pay $94.00 the cashier for no real diagnosis or treatment, I started to get more upset about the situation. You people play on the emotions of a sick pet/ family member. You start your "negotiations" at an unrealistically high number only to back it down when you are challenged buy a patient. If my dog NEEDS $1155.81 in treatment I will gladly pay it....but how does it instantly have a $900.00 swing in NEEDED services when questioned? You people are disgusting and I will advise everyone I know to avoid your side show veterinary practice.
I live an hour from this clinic and my dog was suddenly ill at 1:30 in the morning and I had to take him somewhere. They promptly answered and my call, answered my questions, and were willing to be there for me. In a situation where my wife and I felt helpless, they were what we needed. The doctor was extremely kind and informative through this very difficult time. I am sorry I had to go there, but am forever grateful of the care my dog received and the kindness with which he received it.
Don't waste your time or money here. I took my cat last night we spent less than 3 minutes with the Dr. I was told my cat had dental problems no big deal. Asked him if it could be feline leukemia he said definitely not. Paid 92.00. Took him to a GREAT vet today and found out he had a cancerous mass in his mouth and has feline leukemia and will have to be put to sleep! What a joke this place is. I'm demanding a refund! After posting this I was contacted by the manager who apologized and gave me a full refund. Still unhappy with the original visit however the followup to my review was very classy and appreciated.
Update: I took my dog to another hospital where they found that he had a high fever and a stomach bug. They did bloodwork and found that there was nothing abnormal. I refused the x- rays that Blue Pearl offered due to the fact that this was 215$. I Did not have the money on me and they would not take payments... in fact they don't bring your animal out until payment is received. The new hospital i brought him to said there was no need for an x-ray. His labs, the visit for the entire day and his antibiotics from the new hospital totaled 133$ versus Blue Pearls nearly 600$. Rip off.
Blue pearl continues to delete my review and i can only assume its because their services were much less than satisfying (in fact it was awful) otherwise they wouldn't take it down. Don't come here.
